滑らかに広がるアプリコットや桃、フレッシュなメロンの豊かな果実をスパイスやカシューナッツの香ばしい風味と一貫した酸が縁取り、フォーカスの取れた味わい。フレンチオーク旧樽で発酵、澱とともに7ヶ月間熟成。1840年代移民が持ち込んだオリーブの木はこの地域に根付き、鳥が運んだ種によって今やブドウ畑の真ん中にも生えている。

黒い果実に伴う黒コショウや甘草の風味に続いて、チェリーや生ハムやモカ、コショウのスパイシーさが複雑に絡み合い、滑らかなタンニンが全体をまとめる。伝統的な5t開口槽で途中まで発酵後、バスケットプレスで優しく圧搾し、新旧のフレンチオーク小樽で澱とともに12-18ヶ月間熟成。無濾過、無清澄。マクラーレン・ヴェイル・シラーズの代名詞といえる正統派の味わい。
