イタリア北東部にルーツのあるピッツィーニ･ファミリーは、第二次世界大戦後、スノーウィー･マウンテンズ水力発電計画の人手を募る「仕事とチャンスがいっぱいのオーストラリア！」という謳い文句を見て先に渡豪した親戚に誘われ、1956年ヴィクトリア州に移民。タバコ栽培、醸造用ブドウ栽培を経て、80年代後半からサンジョヴェーゼやネッビオーロをはじめとする故郷イタリア品種でのワイン生産を手がけ、今日に至ります。
　ワインと炭酸ガスのみで造られる良質な缶入りスプリッツを市場にいち早くリリースしたところにも彼らのパイオニア精神は見てとれます。

The Pizzini family, whose roots lie in the Region de Talia in northeastern Italy, emigrated to Victoria in 1956 after being invited by a relative who had already come to Australia after seeing the slogan “Australia full of jobs and opportunities!” recruiting workers for the Snowy Mountains hydroelectric project. After growing tobacco and wine grapes, they began producing wine from their native Italian varieties, including Sangiovese and Nebbiolo, in the late 1980s. They continue to do so to this day. You can also see their pioneering spirit in being one of the first to release a high-quality canned spritz made from wine and carbon dioxide.
